DESIGNED FOR ALL-SEASON USE — this rain sheet was designed to protect your horse from the elements and is ideal for keeping your horse dry in wet or snowy weather, or using in cool weather for added warmth.
Dried mud, hair, hay, and other debris should be regularly brushed off your blanket. A stiff dandy brush often works best for this. Keeping your blanket clean helps extend its lifespan, as well as help to keep your horse clean and happy. You can also use a damp, soapy rag to remove mud/debris and then wipe your blanket dry. Fleece blankets should only be hand washed and never machine washed. All removable parts should be removed before washing, all velcro straps velcroed together, and your blanket should only be washed in a detergent made for use with horse blankets, or gentle animal-safe cleaners. When washing, use cool water and hand wash gently. Do not use fabric softener with any of our blankets as it will damage their waterproofing and breathing abilities and prevent the blanket from wicking water and sweat off your horse. All of our blankets should be air-dried or line-dried, never put in a dryer. If your blanket becomes nicked or torn, the blanket should immediately be sewn or patched to prevent further damage from occurring.
Sizing Information: to size this blanket, measure (in inches) from the center of your horse’s chest, to the end of your horse’s rump. If your horse is in-between sizes, we recommend sizing up to the closest available size.

got it for my senior Arabian mare !
Very nice quality blanket with lots of features. The 78" fits my 15.2h, 1,000lbs Appendix gelding. I love how adjustable and durable this blanket is. In my opinion, chest clasps are nicer than buckles and being able to adjust the neck is super nice. The only thing I don't like is Derby Originals does not offer a 0g fill neck cover to go with this blanket, they only offer ones with 150g fill. I did reach out to them and asked them about this and they said they do plan on adding a 0g fill neck cover to their collection eventually. With my gelding being a grey, I like to have a light weight hood to keep him cleaner, but it can be hard to find a durable neck hood that is 0g fill. So I purchased the HORZE Nevada 1200D Turnout Neck Piece 0g Black Medium, which is pictured. The clasps for that neck cover don't line up with the blanket, but it still works
I wanted to leave a good review as I have used this blanket multiple times and was shocked to see it only had a one star review.
I've always been impressed with the quality of Derby Originals blankets and their wonderful customer service if something goes wrong. This sheet has a 2 year warranty which is rare to see a brand offering! It's definetly a bonus.
I really like the fit of this blanket, it looks really attractive! The neck adjustments are a great bonus feature too that makes it easy to get the perfect fit.
This blanket is identical in design to a lot of Schneider's brand blankets or other expensive blankets out there but the cost is so much cheaper! That being said, the blanket does not feel cheap in any way. You definetly get your money's worth. I like that this blanket has reflective trim around it too.
I've found this blanket to be fully waterproof, hold up well, and the design, style, and fit are all perfect. I would highly recommend buying it! Especially if you have a draft horse, it's so rare to find blankets that big for this price!
