Keep your horse protected against harsh winter weather conditions with this blanket by Derby Originals. The innovative design components make this blanket breathable, waterproof, highly durable and most importantly- comfortable. 

Key Features:

  •  A 1200 denier  heavy duty outer shell designed with rip stop nylon. This material is designed with a special weave pattern to ensure the blanket can stand up to common horse behaviors in the pasture such as biting, chewing and tugging. This material is also waterproof and breathable.
  • Filled with 300 grams of poly fil for medium and heavy weight warmth to withstand below freezing temperatures, as well as wet and windy winter weather conditions.
  • Inner lining designed with 210T smooth nylon to wick away moisture, and to keep your horse's coat clean, glossy and rub-free. 
  • Reflective trim on front shoulder, neck cover and tail cover to make certain you can see your horse outside at all times and to ensure safety during peak hunting season. 
  • Fleece wither protectors to prevent wither sores and rubs. 
  • Extended front shoulder gussets for increased movement capability. Your horse will be able to run and play comfortably outdoors. 
  • Adjustable low cross surcingle closures to ensure a correct fit. 
  • Adjustable, removable elastic leg straps to keep the blanket in place and prevent shifting.
  • Double snap adjustable front end closures to make sure the neck opening of the blanket fits snugly and unexposed from winter weather elements.
  • Tail cover to provide additional security to the tail bone and surrounding structures.

Important Consumer Information:

Measuring for the Blanket: It is important to measure your horse to ensure a proper fitting blanket. Improper fitting blankets can be less effective and uncomfortable for your horse. You will need a tape measure, and then follow the instructions below:

  1. Get your horse to stand as square as possible.
  2. Start your measure at the center of the horse's chest.
  3. Measure from the center of your horse's chest alongside the body to the where the hind quarters meet the tail. This length is your horse blanket size. 
  4. If you are between sizes, round up. 

Choosing the perfect blanket:

As the horse owner, your are aware of your horse's environment and behaviors. These behaviors are important to take into account when purchasing a blanket. A few things to keep in mind:

  • If your horse is a pacer, or likes to run more so than the average horse in the field you may want to consider choosing a lesser weight of poly fil. If a blanket is too heavy for a horse, this directly affects the moisture wicking capability of the blanket. If your horse is too hot, the blanket's moisture wicking design may not be able to keep up with the pace of the increasing moisture.
  • If your horse does not have access to shelter when turned out into the field or pasture, it is important to monitor climate change. While turnout blankets are designed to be waterproof, some areas of the blanket are still susceptible to heavy, prolonged precipitation. If your horse cannot escape this type of weather with a shed or run in, there is a risk they may end up wet. 
  • Be mindful of strap adjustments. If the blanket straps are too tight or too loose fitting, they are at a increased risk for breaking and tearing the blanket. 
  • Be mindful of pasture hazards. 1200 Denier is designed to withstand common horse pasture behaviors, however pasture hazards such as fence posts, nails and various material, fallen trees, and tree branches can easily tear blankets regardless of the denier. Always ensure you are inspecting pastures and removing these hazards to increase the lifetime of your horse's turnout blanket.

Returns Before 30 Days After Package Arrival

Our return period lasts for thirty days after your package arrives. During this time, you may return any non-defective, unused item with tags to us for a refund. It is the buyer's responsibility to pay return shipping in the case of issues like wanting a different color/size, changing your mind about the order, ordering the wrong product, etc. We will not pay return shipping for cases such as this. All returns will have a 20% re-stocking fee.

 

Returns on Wrong Items/Defected Products

In the case of an issue with your order, such as receiving the wrong color/size/type of item, we will pay return shipping at our discretion, as well as the cost of shipping to send you the correct item if an exchange is desired.

 

Returns After 30 Days After Package Arrival

Saddle returns and most other returns are not allowed after the thirty day period has passed. At our discretion, we may allow select returns or exchanges after this period but they will include a 20% re-stocking fee at minimum. We will not pay to ship after the fourteenth day- all shipping will be the buyer’s responsibility.

 

Exchanges

If you would like to exchange a product you ordered for another color, size, or style, you may do so at your own cost by paying the shipping to return the unused item you wish to exchange. Once we have received your exchanged item and verified that it has not been used, we will send out your exchange item, with the buyer being responsible for the shipping costs.

 

Saddle Return Policy

All of our saddles are eligible to be returned within thirty days of receiving your item, with a 20% re-stocking fee deducted. Used saddles will not be accepted. If your saddle is found to be used upon return (things like horsehair on the underside, the saddle being dirty, etc.), your return will not be accepted. Your options then will either be to pay to have the saddle returned to you, to pick the saddle up at our warehouse, or forfeit the return of the saddle and your refund.

Closeout, Bargain Bin, and Scratch and Dent Returns

Any items that are marked “Closeout,” “Bargain Bin,” or “Scratch and Dent” are not eligible for returns under any circumstances. These items are deeply discounted and are considered final sales. No refunds will be issued for these products. In select cases we may allow for returns/exchanges of these products for store credit, as well as a 20% re-stocking fee and the buyer will be responsible for any shipping costs.

Royal International, LLC. proudly offers One Year Limited Manufacturers Warranties and Two Year Limited Manufacturers Warranties on select products from the following brands: Derby Originals, Tahoe Tack, Paris Tack, and CuteNFuzzy.


Warranty Eligibility and Registration

Our warranty information is given on individual product cards. We recommend that buyers register their products online so that important information like the product purchase date and the lot number of that product is entered and recorded into our system. The buyer should, if possible, also save the warranty card that came with their product. Doing so will expedite the warranty claims progress.


Product warranties are voided if the product is purchased secondhand or transferred from the original registered owner. A dated proof of purchase must be present at the time a warranty claim is submitted. The warranty only covers the main body of the product and does not cover any replaceable straps, snaps, velcro closures, or other accessories which may be purchased separately. Warranties are only valid for the specified duration, with a start date set as the date of purchase.


In order to register your product online, all you have to do is go to derbyoriginals.com and click the banner on the top of the page that says “Warranty Registration”. There you will be directed to fill out a form with your product and purchase information. Completing this process will greatly speed up the warranty return/replacement process later on, should you need to, so we encourage all buyers to take this extra step.


What our Warranties Cover

Our limited warranties on our products are offered only towards manufacturing defects of the product. Any and all damage to products that are caused by abuse, normal wear and tear, or accidents are not covered. Replaceable parts such as hardware, straps, snaps, and velcro closures are not eligible for warranty coverage and instead, replacement parts can be purchased through us.


We are unable to offer full warranty coverage on most of our products due to the nature of their use: products designed for use with horses and other livestock animals are often at a very high risk of damage by the animal. Minor damage* is to be expected in most cases due to the nature of horses rubbing blankets on fences, chewing on and pawing at hay bags, etc. We will look at each warranty case individually and decide what the best course of action is on a case by case basis.


How to Initiate the Warranty Coverage Process


To claim a replacement on a defective product that is under warranty, you must follow the steps below:


You must call us at (330)494-4066 or email us at sales@derbyoriginals.com and inform us of the warranty defect, and if possible include information such as the vendor you purchased the item from, proof of purchase, your warranty registration information (if you registered the product), and include a description of the damage/defect the item has, or send us photos.


If you are a local customer, you may call us and arrange to bring the defective item into our headquarters to be examined by one of our Tack Experts. Our Tack Experts will examine the item thoroughly and determine whether the item does have manufacturing defects/quality issues, or if the damage is due to an accident, abuse, or normal wear and tear. If the product has minor damage* and is usable with repair, then up to a $20.00 gift certificate will be awarded to the customer to cover the costs of repairing the item, and the warranty will then be voided for the duration of the warranty period on said item.


If our Tack Experts determine that the item in question is not covered by warranty damage, they have the right to refuse repair or replacement coverage. If it is determined that the item is covered by our warranty, then a replacement, or suitable repair will be approved.


Minor damage is defined as repairable damage such as loose stitching, minor rips, tears, or holes, broken replaceable hardware, etc.


If the customer is unable to bring the item in question to our business, then photos of the item in question can be emailed to sales@derbyoriginals.com. Within two business days, one of our tack experts will check these photos, and at their discretion offer up to a $20.00 gift certificate for minor repair, allow for a replacement (either fully covered by us, or partially covered by us), or deny the warranty claim.


Proportional Warranty Values

In the case of hay-holding products such as hay bags, hay nets, or hay bale bags, they are often seen as toys by horses once they are empty, and are chewed on, pawed at, or otherwise damaged. Because of this, they can be worn down very fast or damaged and so although they are warrantied items, they are warrantied at a proportional value. *In order to combat warranty fraud, all warranty claims submitted within three days of the end of the warranty period, will be scrutinized very closely. All warranties submitted during that period will only have a 5% proportional value.





Return Policies

If the item in question is found to be damaged by abuse, an accident, or any other non-covered reason, the customer may pick the item up, pay to have it shipped back to them, or have us destroy the item. All replacement items will be shipped out at the customer’s expense, and the shipping costs must be paid before the item will be sent out. If a customer gives us a product to be repaired, the item will be repaired, and then shipped back to the customer at their expense. All warranty items may be picked up for free by the customer at our warehouse location of they prefer. Our pick-up/drop-off details are listed below.
